Energy Efficiency
Aronson Custom Homes looks for ways to increase the energy efficiency of your
home or remodeling project. This includes installing high-efficiency (Energy
Star-rated) appliances,
placing the building structure to maximize the use of the sun, using geothermal
heating systems if possible, positioning
windows and window overhangs to control sunlight, properly placed
landscaping materials, and using the right kind and level of insulation...anything
we can do to reduce the use of non-renewable sources
of energy.
Building "Healthy"
We want to provide a healthy environment for your family. To improve the home's
indoor air (which the EPA considers to be one of the top five hazards
to human health), we minimize the materials which release toxic chemicals.
Common construction materials contain VOCs, lead, formaldehyde, asbestos, chlorofluorocarbons,
and other harmful substances. For superior indoor environmental quality, we
use
low or no VOC paints, finishes and flooring; we use non-toxic insulation materials.
We'll also look at the ventilation of your home to reduce radon exposure and
the likelihood of mold.
Local Green Resources
We try to buy locally to reduce the energy costs associated with extracting,
transporting and manufacturing building materials. We look for manufacturers
who share our vision by using energy-efficient manufacturing processes.
Conservation
Green building embraces the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" philosophy:
Aesthetic qualities
In process of Green building, we emphasize the design and overall aesthetic appeal of the project.
Beyond the environmental and economic benefits of building green, we'll capture
the beauty you're looking for in your home.
